Anton Schutz is a Founder and Managing Partner Mendon Venture Partners, a venture investments and strategic advisory firm focused on financial technology companies and incumbent banks.

Mr. Schutz is also President of Mendon Capital Advisors Corporation (“MCAC”), where he is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of the Mendon Capital Master strategy, a long/short event driven financial-sector strategy founded in 1996. He has been in the investment and risk management business since 1986, focusing on investment and portfolio management. He served as a senior vice president at RBC Dain Rauscher in institutional sales trading in the financial institutions group. He also worked at Chase Manhattan Bank for 10 years where his responsibilities consisted of structuring investment products, which included hedge funds, and the development and application of financial risk strategies.

Mr. Schutz is often interviewed regarding his expertise in the financial services sector. He appears regularly as a guest on CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg Television and Radio, and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The New York Times, Financial Times, Business Week, Investors’ Business Daily, Smart Money, and others.

Mr Schutz currently serves on the Board of Directors for both Equitus and Marstone.

Mr. Schutz served on the Board of Directors for Professional Bank of Florida (since April 2015). He also served on the Board of Directors for Bank of the Carolinas from December 2014 –August 2015.  

Mr. Schutz is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and obtained his MBA in Finance from Fordham University.

Mr. Schutz graduated from Furman University, Cum Laude, with a BA in Business Administration and holds an MBA from NYU Stern, where he specialized in FinTech, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Corporate Finance. He lives in New York City.
